Terry, my heart goes out to you at this time because I know the feeling you are having. when you think of how many years you spent together dating, marriage, kids, grandchildren, some of those years wonderful, some difficult, but he was always there. Now comes the hard part. It`s just not the same without him. You will especially miss the goodbye and goodnight kiss. You will miss his singing and his smile. Luckily you have your family to help you through this difficult time, and know that your many friends hold you in their thoughts and I am one of them.

Papa would have wanted us to keep on the sunny side but if love could have saved him, he never would have been sick. I bet there’s more saunas in heaven than finland.  papa is my hero. a home away from home. the best listener and solid protection, stability in both comfort and unconditional love. i miss his devoted warm embrace, laugh, the sound of him walking and words of wisdom. hes vastly adored and deeply cherished. i’ll hold the camp filled summers in my heart forever and memories like making me feel like the coolest girl at school when dropped off in his gold cattilac, or how nobody can make fried fish like him. im blessed to have been taught the value of good judgement and a true example of how to be respectful. i now know that humanity can be warm and safe and love can be eternal. i never knew the words to your songs papa but I always understood, and I know your singing above us in a better place. god will take good care of you, as you will us. i’ll forever proudly cherish the time we had together and I know your love lives in my heart. i feel grateful and privileged to have been blessed with the man i was lucky enough to call papa. although this loss is deeply painful and I feel an empty void I know hes waiting for us peacefully... heaven gained a true angel. I love you papa.


It is with great sadness that we received news of Kalevi's passing.  Our hearts and feelings are for the family and friends he leaves behind but there is comfort in the fact that this parting is just temporary and a great reunion will bring family again together in the future.  May peace, as the dew of the morning, rest upon the family and provide comfort at this time of sorrow, longing and reflection.

Kalevi setta always brought a huge smile to my heart with every greeting over the phone and with every  visit.   Although he was a man of few and very carefully selected words he had a very charming and funny way in which he shared his stories and words of wisdom.  I am going to miss his voice and presence and yet I will hold it in my memory and heart forever.  I am forever grateful for his solid and whole hearted devotion to his family and I know he will be missed tremendously by Terttu tatti , Lisa, Heidi and all the grandchildren and relatives.   Love to you in heaven now Kalevi Setta!
