Lillian is now reunited with her husband Frederick Crigger, her son Fred Crigger Jr. and her grandson Jerry Crigger. Cherished mother of Judy Grandin (Rick). Dear mother-in-law of Marita Reid. Loving grandmother to Cheryl Proulx (Rob) and Derek Crigger (Shannon), and the late Jerry Crigger Jr (Sharon Dearing). Proud great grandmother to Bradley Barnes (Megan), Samantha Blackstock (Michael), Rachel Cowx (Tyler), Madison Crigger (Anthony) and Colton Crigger. Great-great grandmother to Sutton, Wells, Kadynce, Jeremy, and Mikaya. Predeceased by her siblings George, Dorothy, Melba, Harry, Bruce, Jim, and Robert. Lillian will be missed and fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lillian was born in Bruce Mines, Ontario and spent her life in several small, northern Ontario communities, with a few years in Toronto in her teenage years, but she always returned to Sault Ste. Marie. She and her husband loved to travel and covered almost all of the U.S. and Canada.
Lillian loved having visits from her family and friends. Playing games, cards, reading and watching classic movies were a big part of her day. She loved looking at the river and watching the boats from her unit at the Lions Club building.
With the support of family and others, Lillian was able to stay in her home and was able to reach an incredible milestone of 108 years.
As per her wishes, there will be a private Celebration of Life, and she will be laid to rest with her husband at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions (payable by cheque or online) to Canadian Cancer Society or the Council of the Blind would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the staff on the 3rd floor at Van Daele Nursing Home for their care and kindness in the past five months. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522).
