GLOSTER, Marie Jacqueline (nee Martin) - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Jackie announced that she has been called home to be with her Lord, peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital with her loving family by her side on October 25, 2025.
Born April 5, 1930 to her late parents David and Marie-Ange Martin. Jackie grew up on the family farm near Shillington, ON with her treasured siblings, the late Fern Allaire (Ray), late Ronald Martin (Theresa), late Lillian Caldwell (Chuck), Aline Martin and cherished baby sister Noella Drinkwalter.
Jackie was the devoted wife and dance partner of the late Jim Gloster (predeceased 2003), who together, with love, warmth and a strong work ethic, raised a gaggle of kids. Mom will be deeply missed by her children Leona Gloster-Kehoe (Mike), late Eddy Clement, Rick Gloster, Henry Gloster (Corky), Joel Rheault (Kim) and James Gloster.
Sister-in-law of the late Theresa Shulte (George), late Tommy Gloster (Marcella), late Ducilla Blanchette (Aurel) and Lorraine Eldred (Jerry).
Jackie was a proud and doting grandmother to many grandchildren, holding a special place in the hearts of Rhonda and Kimmie. Her love has carried on to her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who affectionately call her McMémère.
Jackie is also survived by many special nieces, nephews as well as many close friends who she held close to her heart.
Jackie will be remembered for the endless stories of life on the family farm, her clever life hacks and her talent as a seamstress. She was known for the fabulous parties she hosted back in the day where laughter and good food filled the house. Over the years, she opened her home and heart to countless boarders, caring for them like family and making everyone feel welcome under her roof. She will also be fondly remembered as a true card shark, always ready for a good game and a good laugh.
Thank you to Dr. Booth and nurses who made Jackie's last few days as comfortable as possible.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions made payable online or by cheque to ARCH would be greatly appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Gloster family.
