Melodie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but comfort is found in knowing she is now reunited with Duncan.
Daughter of the late Ida Greer and Gregory Allen Greer Sr. Beloved sister of Susan Alger (Grover), Darlene Clark (Terry), Lance Greer (Joan), Linda Coulis (Mike Dewey), Gail Beilhartz, and the late Ted Greer. Over the years, Melodie devoted her energy and love to supporting and caring for many foster children. After receiving her counseling certificate, Melodie spent several years counseling and caring for victims of abuse. She devoted herself to supporting others with compassion, patience, and understanding, offering comfort and strength during their most vulnerable moments.
Melodie found great joy in her family, her home, and time spent at camp. She enjoyed gardening, working on crossword puzzles, and gathering with family. She had a deep love for animals, especially Reba (dog), DC (cat), and Diamond (cat), all of whom were cherished members of her family.
Kind, gentle, and deeply empathetic, Melodie possessed a quiet strength and a special sense of humor that left a lasting impact on everyone she met. Her life was defined by service, love, and an unwavering commitment to caring for others. She shared many years of love and partnership with Duncan, and together they devoted themselves to their family and the many animals they cared for so dearly.
The family would like to thank Dr. Apostle and the wonderful staff at ARCH Hospice for their dedication and compassion, as well as the Sault Area Hospital Cancer Clinic for the care provided during her journey.
Cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made payable by cheque or online to ARCH would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East, 705-759-2522).
