LAFORGE, Melvin Henry - Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at home, surrounded by his loved ones, in his 80th year, after a courageous battle with cancer. Loving husband and dear companion of Donna LaForge (nee Davieaux). Cherished father of Ellen LaForge, Melissa LaForge, Danny LaForge (Barbara), the late Carol Parniak (nee LaForge), and Janice LaForge (late Joseph Martone). Special grandpa of Sara Lay (Ron), Paavo Pollari (Nicole), Jacob Pollari (Rachel), Jason Gilbert (Candice), Tyler Warner-Smith, Jacob Gilbert, Kaitland LaForge, Tyson Warner-Smith, Mikaela LaForge, Kylee Vachon, and Chrissee Haner. Great grandpa of 11. Predeceased by his parents Bill and Lorna LaForge and son-in-law of the late Arthur and Viola Davieaux. Brother of the late Marvin LaForge and the late John LaForge (Elna). Brother -in-law to the late Lillian, Lavina, Floyd (Priscillia), Catherine, Delores, Ivy, the late Rose and Fay (Ed). Special uncle to many. Will be missed by his fur-baby Kiki. Melvin will be missed by his special friends Paul Daoust (Lorna), and John Williams (Jess). In respecting Melvin's wishes, no services will take place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 200 Gran Street in the common room on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 12 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the SAH Cancer Care Fund. The family would like to thank Dr. Booth, Dr. Spadafora, and all the nurses for their care and compassion toward Melvin and family.
