Lina was predeceased by her beloved husband, Pietro Favotto, whose passing at a young age shaped much of her life. Though widowed early, their marriage was rooted in love and devotion, and Pietro remained forever in her heart. The family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her loving husband.
Cherished mother of Isabel Notte (Michael), Larry Favotto (Wendy), and Susana Notte (Anthony). A proud Nonna to her grandchildren, Aaron (Katey), Kyle (Chantal), Lauren (Ryan), Lindsay (John), Aja, and Alexa (Nicklas). She was also a loving Granny to Peter, Adrian, Senna and Anthony.
Dear sister of Antoinetta Tosello (late John), the late Emilio Giammarco (Julie), Maria Scala (late Aldo), and Vincenza Menagone (late Carlo).
Born in Italy, Lina immigrated to Canada at just 17 years old. She was predeceased by her parents, Michele and Concetta Giammarco. From a young age, she faced life with remarkable strength and independence—qualities she not only embodied, but consistently encouraged in her family.
Lina was the most caring, generous, and strong woman her family knew. Family was always at the centre of her life. Nothing brought her greater joy than being together, especially when it meant preparing meals, sharing stories, and laughing around the table. Her home was a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.
She will be deeply missed by her many family members, including her nieces and nephews, as well as all those near and far who were touched by her kindness, strength, and gentle heart.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Lina’s doctors, nurses, and all those who cared for and supported her with compassion and dedication.
A private family service was held at Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522) on Friday, December 19, 2025. Rev. Helen Smith officiated.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) may be made to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation in memory of Lina. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family.
Rest in peace, Mom
