It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Philip who is now reunited with the love of his life, the late Diane.
Philip was the beloved son of the late Vaughan and Ertle Berdux. A man of many passions and pursuits, Phil lived life fully and wholeheartedly. In his younger years, he was an avid outdoorsman who loved canoeing, the rapids and guiding children through YMCA camp programs. He had a true passion for downhill skiing and was grateful for the opportunity to ski in Germany.
Phil enjoyed many sports and was instrumental in starting the Bankers Softball League. In his professional career, he followed in his father’s footsteps and took great pride in his role as a bank manager with CIBC. He graduated from the University of Western, where he earned the nickname “Iron gut.”
Phil will be deeply missed by his daughters, Cynthia (Shane), the late Christina, and Kathy (Dustin). A special mention goes to Adrian and his wife Kayla, who became like family to him. His cherished grandchildren, Alexis, Preston, and Kya, will miss him dearly.
He will also be missed by his many friends at Pathways, especially those who gathered in the smoking area, where laughter and stories were often shared.
A heartfelt thank you to all those who helped and supported him over the past 20 years - too many to name, but never forgotten.
Phil’s sense of humor, kindness, generosity, and his ability to never complain or sweat the small stuff made him the incredible person he was.
A celebration of Phil's life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. East; 705-759-2522). Memorial donation (payable by cheque or online) to Tracy's Dreams would be appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the family.
