

Born on November 8, 1944, Ray was predeceased by his parents, Catherine (nee Allan) and Earold Matheson, and by his first wife, Shiela (Martin). Survived by his soulmate, Sandra Carlson who remained by his side throughout his journey.
Proud dad of Shelley Hall (Dean) and Denver (Lacy). Supportive stepfather to Kaitlynn (Chandler) and Hannah (Guillaume). He was a devoted "Gramps" to Rayden (Zach), Ashlyn (Ben), Aspen and Everly and a cherished "Grampie" to many grand-furbabies, especially Browning.
He will be dearly missed by his brother Gus (Lorraine) and sister Lynda Ervin (late Abe), as well as by his many nieces and nephews.
Ray will be greatly missed by his loyal furbabies - Ella, Pherb, George and especially his best buddy Phinney that were constant companions who brought him great joy.
Ray's laughter, hard work and gentle heart leave a lasting legacy in the lives he touched.
The family extends sincere gratitude to the healthcare professionals and programs that supported Ray, with special thanks to his personal support worker - Jody, for her exceptional care and compassion.
As per Ray's request, cremation has taken place, there will no formal service. In lieu of flowers a memorial contribution can be made to Algoma Residential Community Hospice (A.R.C.H) or the PSW Outreach Program - St. Joseph Island (payable by cheque or online).
