

GRISDALE, Richard Joseph – Peacefully at the F. J. Davey Home with his family by his side on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the age of 69. Beloved husband for 47 years to Diane (nee Berto). Cherished father of Natalie Fawcett (Bruce) and Nicole Grisdale (Robert Gentile). Proud Poppy of Ethan Richard Fawcett. Dear brother of Elizabeth Campbell and Joan Clarke (Bert). Brother-in-law of Frank Berto (Judy), Bob Berto, Judy Berto, Larry Berto (Karen) and the late Frances Berto. Ricky will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins, many close friends and by his family pets. Ricky will always be remembered for his sense of humour, love of life and for his love of sports and family. A memorial service will take place at Willowgrove United Church on Friday, May 10, 2013 at 1 pm. Rev. Dr. David Zub officiating. Interment St. Luke’s Columbarium. Memorial contributions to the F. J. Davey Home Walkway to Health or ARCH would be appreciated. Special Thanks to the wonderful staff at the F. J. Davey Home for their many years of support and care. I would like to thank Willowgrove United Church, Rev. David Zub and Rev. Don White and the staff who helped us put the Memorial Service together in such short notice, as well as the U.C.W. Unit 5 who took of their time to serve and arrange the luncheon. Thank you to all who sent dessert and sandwich trays and flowers to the Church. My family and I appreciated all who attended the service for Rick and for those who were unable to and for all the precious phone calls and the ever ending cards of sympathy, love and support. For this we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
I would also like to thank Dr. Wytsma and Dr. Fratesi who did their very best to take care of Richard's concerns and of course all of the Staff on Cedar Grove 2, the P.S.W.'s, R.P.N.'s, R.N.'s the cleaning staff and a big thank you to the forgotten, hard working women in the kitchen who were so good to us. Thank you all who worked to provide activities for the residents and to the Chaplain who provided spirtual guidance.
For those who give freely to their time to work in the "Tuck Shop" at the Davey Home, thank you, for giving families a place to gather for two hours every day to enjoy one another's compnay. Let us not forget about the entertainment that is also provided, be it country or 60's music, choirs, sing-a-longs or bingo all out of the goodness of wonderful people. Forgive me if I have forgotten anyone at the Davey Home. Glod Bless You All.
Lastly, my Family and I wouold like to say "Thank you" to Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre for their professional widsom, care and concern for us and for going above and beyond to guide us through the loss of our loved one, Richard. We will miss his smile and love but will never forget him. He will be in OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
