WEST, Stephen E. D.C. – It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Stephen West on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the age of 83. Husband of 62 years to Daphne and father of Pamela Briggs-Jude (Rick), Stephanie Sullivan (Barry), the late Warren West and Jason West (Erika). Grandfather to Courtney, Sarah and Clare Briggs-Jude, Ben and Max Sullivan, Zachary and Aliya West and Holly and Christopher West. Dear brother to Phyllis Buchanan (Stan) and Barbara Galbraith (Ray). Brother-in-law of Kenneth Warrin and the late Anna. After leaving a promising position with CHUM Broadcasting in Toronto, Stephen began a nearly half century career as a highly skilled and respected health care practitioner in Sault Ste. Marie. As a Doctor of Chiropractic Stephen sat on the Board of Directors of Chiropractic for 18 years starting in 1965 and from 1974 to 1984 he served as its' Chairman. Closer to the end of his career he was asked to sit with the examination committee where he oversaw the Principles of Practice during the annual board exams. His membership in the Ontario Chiropractic Association spanned a remarkable 60 years. His unique care and dedication to his patients continued until his retirement in 2000, almost 50 years after it began. With respect, a private family service will be held with cremation to follow.
