After a life well-lived, his last moments were spent helping others.
On Monday, February 23, 2026, he joined his parents, his best friend Jim, and many friends who had gone before him.
Family always came first. He loved his family deeply and took immense pride in each of them.
Survived by Rita (wife). Fun-loving Dad and wonderful friend of Tracey Richards (Ryan), Steven Wyatt and Lesley Ferguson (Brad).
Fiercely proud and fun-loving Papa to Kyle Wyatt (Jennifer), Noah Richards (Gemma), Keegan Wyatt, Leah Ferguson (Aiden), Jonah Richards, Cody Ferguson and Mackenzie Wyatt. He was also an incredible fur-Dad to his buddy, Harold.
His pop-in visits will be forever missed by his brother Vince(Marianne) and his sister Carol McLeod (late Bill). He was loved and respected by many nieces and nephews.
Tom lived life on his own terms and lived it fully. A true athlete, he played hockey and baseball, forming lifelong friendships. Memorable moments were spent with family and friends hunting, fishing and camping. Many a cold beer was consumed while watching his favourite teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Team Canada.
Tom enjoyed the simple things and found great joy in everyday life.
He was one of the last true gentlemen -kind, thoughtful and compassionate. To know him was to love him.
His smile and his joyful laugh were his calling card.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the wonderful paramedics, nurses, doctors, and medical staff at Sault Area Hospital, Emergency Department and 3A, for their exceptional care and compassion.
Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East; 705-759-2522). A Celebration of life will be held this summer to commemorate Tom’s 80th birthday. Details to follow. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Please raise a cold beer and perform an act of kindness in honour of an amazing man. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Wyatt family.
