

“Anything is possible.” That is what William "Will" Alexander Eddy-Duma believed about life. He was a creative man, a perpetual inventor, who seemed to be able to find a solution for any difficulty confronting him. He had faith in his ability to find those solutions. Willy/Wills/Doubleya thoroughly enjoyed understanding how things worked. He possessed an inquisitive, confident, and rational nature matched with a versatile and agile mind. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was a person who believed that he could achieve whatever he set out to do.
Willy/Wills/Doubleya was born on May 10, 1995 at Sault Ste. Marie ON at the General Hospital in Ontario. His parents were Paul Duma and Elizabeth Eddy. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was raised in St. Joseph Island. He showed his ingenuity even as a child. When he was confronted with a problem, Willy/Wills/Doubleya could develop an imaginative solution, and he derived satisfaction from knowing he had that ability.
This same talent for finding solutions had a positive bearing on Willy/Wills/Doubleya's family relationships. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was raised with Will had two sibblings. He had an older brother Thomas and older sister Maddie. When a difficult situation or dilemma arose within the family, Willy/Wills/Doubleya was always there to help figure out a solution for making things work.
As a young boy, Willy/Wills/Doubleya could be found building and inventing new and different things. He was curious, resourceful and interested in anything original. Willy/Wills/Doubleya took part in hockey, track and field, biking, drumming, skiing, Four wheeling, snowmobiling, and skateboarding. NCHA, SMHA, Soo PEEWEE, SMajorHA. In his spare time he liked making ski and bike trails, drumming, fixing bikes and four wheelers, reading about physics and philosophy. Willy/Wills/Doubleya's memorable achievements included several goalie awards and hockey championships, and several Legion track and fied awards.
Endowed with an appetite for knowing how his world worked, Willy/Wills/Doubleya enjoyed school, especially when the learning experience involved dissecting and probing the unknown. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was adept at scrutinizing different possibilities and designing innovative solutions. He graduated from Central Algoma Secondary School in 2013. He enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. His favorite class in high school was English. The teacher he enjoyed learning from the most was Foster, Yakota, and Gravelle. Will played his last year of hockey as one of the goalies for the CASS Huskies.
Willy/Wills/Doubleya was socially resourceful, an expressive person who was willing to try new things. These qualities drew a lively circle of friends around him. Always interested in his friends’ activities and interests, Willy/Wills/Doubleya was uncritical of his acquaintances. He was sought after by people who recognized that he was generous with his time and energy, and these same friends found Willy/Wills/Doubleya to be very stimulating company. Willy/Wills/Doubleya's humor and curiosity were contagious for those around him. While growing up, some of his best friends were Riley Marshall, Tanner Ableson, Emma Horner, Kiera Prout, Devin Lucier, Jennie Dorscht.
Willy/Wills/Doubleya's calm demeanor and eternally positive outlook served him well in sports. In high school, Willy/Wills/Doubleya played hockey and floor hockey. In the 2010/11 hockey year his team, the Cambrian Nissan Titan were League play-off champion and OHF Finalists. Once again in the 2011/12 hockey year the samen team, with Will as goalie, were the Leaugue play off champs. In his college years, Willy/Wills/Doubleya continued to stay active by playing pick up hockey. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was also something of a sports fan and enjoyed following his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity. Tops on his list were dirt biking, hockey, skiing, extreme sports, baseball.
With all of his talents, his ingenuity, his solutions and inventiveness, it is no surprise that Willy/Wills/Doubleya received public recognition for his competence. With the drive and ability to meet any challenge, Willy/Wills/Doubleya accumulated a long list of achievements throughout his life. Some of his most prestigious awards included MVP Goalie Award 2008.
Having the opportunity to visit and explore a new place always intrigued Willy/Wills/Doubleya. Traveling and going away on vacations offered yet another opportunity for Willy/Wills/Doubleya to expand his ever-growing inventory of knowledge. Favorite vacations included Cozumel Mexico, Clear Lake Campground, New York and CT.
Willy/Wills/Doubleya was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of Willy/Wills/Doubleya's favorites was Josie Jo Jo, the black lab. They were best friends for 2 Years. His family was rounded out by his cat Maggie, black lab Tracker and Yellow lab Sunny.
Willy/Wills/Doubleya passed away on February 14, 2014 at Chalk River Ontario. Will died at 18years old, due to a Motor Vehicle Accident while attempting to come home for reading week from his first year of college. He is survived by his brother Thomas, sister Maddie, father Paul, and mother Elizabeth; as well as nephew Cole and niece Dali. Services were held at Hilton Beach Community Centre. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was laid to rest in Mountain View Cemetary.
During his lifetime, nothing appeared impossible to Willy/Wills/Doubleya. He met the words “it can’t be done” with the enthusiastic challenge of a “wanna bet” attitude. Willy/Wills/Doubleya was able to recognize the possibilities a new idea held, even when those around him could not. For Willy/Wills/Doubleya, the traditional way of doing things fell short of his expectations, especially if there were original and untested methods for handling a challenge. For William "Will" Alexander Eddy-Duma, the fun of living his life could be found in the challenge.

DUMA, William Alexander “Will”– The family of Will are heartbroken to announce his sudden passing on Friday, February 14, 2014. Beloved son of Paul Duma and Elizabeth Eddy. Brother of Maddie (Adam) and Thomas (Noella) Corbett. Grandson of Jean Eddy (late Delbert), and the late Bill and Patricia Duma. Nephew of Elizabeth MacDonald (late Kenny), Gregory Duma (Patricia), Shane and Sylvia Eddy, Jan and Stacey Eddy. Cherished uncle of Cole and Dali Wilson. Special cousin to Brendan, Elysia, Bryce, Kyle, Alyssa, Sarah, and Jan Michael. Will enjoyed college and many sports including hockey, skiing, biking, and four wheeling. He will be remembered by many family, friends, and teammates. Friends may call at the Hilton Beach Community Hall on Thursday, February 20, 2014 from 12-4pm. At 4 pm a Celebration of Will’s life will begin. Memorial donations to the Brain Injury Association of Sault Ste. Marie and District would be appreciated.
