Zella Donelda Mae Hope

Predeceased by her husband John Ranson Hope and her brother Marland Smith, as well as her parents Albena and Tom Smith. She was a loving mother to her children Karen Hope, Wendy Hope (Ed), Tammy Hope (Kelly) and Robert Hope (Helen) who will miss her dearly. She was a cherished grandmother of Lauren, Justin, John, Matthew, Bradley, Heather, Emily, Hope, and Shelby. Great grandmother to Hailey, Maxwell, Valerie and Barrett. She is survived by her sister Carol Bennett and sister-in-law Arlene Hope as well as many nieces and nephews.

Mom and Grandma Zella, always brought laughter and warmth to those around her, whether intentionally or not. She was known for her welcoming hugs and radiant smile, a true comfort to her loved ones. Her love for life was evident in her passions — a wicked card player, a devoted dog lover, and a talented organ player. Many will remember her dedication and kindness during her many years as a head checker at Loblaws.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff on the first floor (Apple) of the FJ Davey Home for their exceptional care and compassion.

She will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love and joy she brought into our lives.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to the Alzheimer Society would be deeply appreciated.
