

Ann Elizabeth Forehand, LPN, Retired, died Sunday December 18th , 2011 at Candler Hospital. Betty, the devoted daughter of the late Marvin A. and Nellie Carr Forehand, Sr., and granddaughter of the late John and Katherine Wade Carr was born in Savannah, Georgia on April 30, 1926. She was preceded in death by her beloved brothers Marvin A. Forehand and John Carr Forehand, Sr. Betty graduated from Savannah High School and St. Vincent's Grammar School for Girls where she was a schoolmate and acquaintance of Flannery O'Conner. The retired Licensed Practical Nurse began her 43 year career in nursing at the Central of Georgia Railway Hospital in Savannah, Georgia and continued nursing at Candler Hospital until her retirement. She was a communicant of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. Betty was a kind and generous person appreciated by her family and friends as the baker of exquisite Italian Cream cakes, carrot cakes and 7-UP pound cakes. She adored her rescued dogs and cats and was a lifelong antiquer and baseball fan. Survivors: Niece Linda and Jerry Dobson ; Nephews John Carr Forehand, Jr., Arno and Shelby Forehand and grand nephew Jack Ryan Forehand; sisters-in-law Kwi Cha Forehand and Melrose Rich; Cousin Marie C. Powers ; friends Virginia and Susan Donaldson and beloved canine Chipper Jones , all of Savannah. Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 PM Tuesday December 20, 2011 at Fairhaven with Rosary Service at 6:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 AM Wednesday at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist with Monsignor William O'Neill officiating. Burial: Wade Forehand plot in Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers: Wright C. Powers, Conor W. Powers, Timothy H. Ward, Timothy H. Ward, Jr., Andrew C.
