

Betty Bryan McIver, 86, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013 at her residence. She was born on Tybee Island, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Camden McIver. She had formerly worked as an Elementary Teacher at Charles Herty Elementary School, and the Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School. She was a member of Wilmington Island United Methodist Church and a member of the Seekers Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church for over 40 years. She is survived by a son, Thomas D. McIver (Phyllis), of Savannah, Ga; 2 daughters, Mrs. Linda M. McIver-Lorne (Michael), of Haleiwa, Hawaii; and Mrs. Bonnie M. Meeks - McIver (Dwayne) of Eden, Ga; a sister, Mary Eva DuBose of Macon, Ga., and a half sister, Emily L. Farmer of Guyton, Ga; 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Visitation: 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Wilmington Island United Methodist Church, with Rev. James Sapp, officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park. Mrs. McIver will be taken to the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday to lie in state.
