
Brother Corbett was preceded in death by his wife, Ollwyn Bennett Corbett, his parents, Howard Allison Corbett and Lillian Phinazee, sisters Helen Jester Murray and Nina Richardson, and brother Bobby Richardson.
He is survived by daughters Cynthia Lord of Savannah and Sarah Corbett of Midway, and grandson, Jonathan Lord of Savannah.

Billy Corbett was born on December 12, 1926, in Waycross, Ware County, Georgia. On Dec 2, 1949, he was married to Ollwyn Rose Bennett at the Waycross Ward Meetinghouse of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Mesa, Arizona Temple on June 19, 1953. Brother Corbett was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 61 years serving in many capacities. After a brief period working for the Central of Georgia Railroad, Brother Corbett enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951. He retired in 1973 after serving two tours of duty in Korea and two tours of duty in Vietnam. He had many interesting experiences during his military service including marching in Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Presidential inaugural parade, witnessing atomic bomb testing in the deserts of southwestern America, and serving in Germany when the Berlin Wall was erected. He was awarded the Bronze Star during his service in Vietnam. Brother Corbett enjoyed gardening, woodworking, camping, traveling, trains, bagpipe music, the beach, bowties, and cowboy boots. He was a loving husband and father.
Visitation: Monday, Aug 15, 2011 from 5 – 7 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home – Hubert C. Baker Chapel in Savannah, Ga.
Graveside Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug 16, 2011 at Little Utah Cemetery in Axson, Georgia, in Atkinson County.
