

Edward Washington, 71, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 16, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Erica Jackson, a brother, Robert Washington and a sister Florence Brown. Edward was born and raised in Savannah and attended local schools. He was retired from the Savannah Golf Club after many years of service. He was a member of the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Ushers Board. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Gwendolyn Jackson Washington of Savannah; his mother, Eloise Washington; 4 sons; 6 daughters; 2 brothers; 3 sisters, all of Savannah; 42 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation: 5 - 7p.m. Friday, June 21, 2013 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Service: 11:00a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 in the Chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Pastor Dorsey Phillips officiating. Burial to follow in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
