Mrs Nancy Simons Boyd

Nancy Simons Boyd, 74, passed peacefully on Monday, November 28, 2011 after a long illness. Nancy was a devoted mother, treasured friend, and a loving sister, aunt, nana, and great-grandma. A lifelong resident of Savannah, she worked at Kroger as a bookkeeper and front end supervisor for over 20 years. She attended New Vision Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, cooking, caring for her family, and spending time with her friends. She is survived by sons, Jack R. Boyd, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL and Rev. Guy (Sherrie) Boyd, pastor of Dean Forest Baptist Church, of Savannah; granddaughters, Megan Breeanne, Brittany, Madison, and Mandi; great- grandchildren, Julius and Emma; sisters, Mrs. Martha Holland and Mrs. Mary Gibson, both of Savannah, Mrs. Sally Belz of Newark, OH; sisters- in-law, Mrs. Aurora Simons of Norfolk, CA, and Mrs. Goldie Simons of Alton, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by parents C.G. and Evelyn Simons and brothers Clarence, Leonard, David, and Robert. Visitation: 6:00 - 9:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel with Bro. Larry Price of Sorrento, FL and Rev. Gary Bradham of Savannah officiating. Interment: Wednesday, November 30, 2011 immediately following funeral service.
