

Stephen Francis Roach, 66, of Savannah passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Hospice Savannah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Frances McAleer Roach and a nephew, Scott Roach. Steve was born on August 4, 1945 and was a 1963 graduate of Benedictine Military School. Following his graduation, he attended Georgia Tech. When he returned home, Steve went to work for Thomas and Hutton Engineering Co. and was employed by them until his retirement in 2007, after 42 years of service. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Jeanine Backman Roach; three daughters, Molly, Stephanie and Sophie; four sons, Patrick, Michael, Matthew and Christopher; son in law Joey; daughter in laws, Kristin, Krista, Amanda, and Jennifer; seven grandchildren, Savannah, Joseph, Cooper, Kelly, Vivian, Zachary, and Hanna; two brothers, Phil and Michael, two sister in laws, Sandra and Suzie; six nephews, Shane, Brian, David, Christopher, Sam and Greg; three nieces, Jennifer, Melanie and Amanda. Visitation: 5 – 7p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel with a Rosary Service at 6:00p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00a.m., Monday, Aug. 6, 2012 at the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament (Victory and Waters) with Fr. Jason Adams officiating. Burial will be private. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Steve’s name to Blessed Sacrament School Foundation, 1003 E.
