Albert was born in Waterloo where he attended St. Louis School and later St. Jerome’s College.
As a child, in his spare time - between completing household chores, working part time in a furniture factory, and being an altar server - he enjoyed playing baseball, curling and activities with the Catholic Youth Organization.
Immediately following graduation, he began his long career with the Bank of Montreal. His work in the bank brought him and his family to Watford, Perth, Belleville and in 1969 to Toronto.
Albert enjoyed gardening, woodworking, volunteering with youth baseball and hockey organizations, wine-making and playing bridge. He was dedicated to the call to assist the Church and others. He served on several parish committees and for many years was the coordinator of ShareLife in his parish.
