Anne Bertazzon

It is with great sadness, that the family announces that Anne passed away peacefully, at home on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at the age of 84. Beloved wife for 63 years to Aduino Bertazzon. Predeceased by her father Bernard, mother May Rose, brother Christopher, and sister Diana. Survived by her brother Joseph, sisters Mary-Lou, Theresa, Frances and Nancy, and their spouses. Much loved mother of Cecilia (John), Debb (Dina) and Kevin (Lori). Loving grandmother to Rebecca and Matthew. Sister-in-law to the Bertazzon family in Italy, France and Germany. Aunt to many nieces and nephews, friend to everyone, in Canada and overseas. Anne was a devout Catholic and an active member of the St. Thomas More Parish. She took pride in her role as head lector for many years and was involved with the Catholic Women’s League. Anne also enjoyed attending Latin Mass. She cared deeply for her adopted cats and dogs. She worked as a medical secretary before starting her family. In her day, Anne could play a mean game of Bingo, bocce or any card game. Anne was born and lived in the east end of Toronto all her life, where she met Aduino and raised her children. Visitation will be held at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Avenue E. (between Warden Ave. & Pharmacy Ave.) from 5-8 pm Thursday, July 14, 2022. A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2234 Ellesmere Rd (east of Markham Rd.) at 11:00 am Friday, July 15, 2022. Special thanks to all the wonderful nurses, doctors and PSWs involved in her care from the East End Palliative Care Team, especially Debbie Daly NP and Namgyal Wangmo RN. Mom, you taught us about the importance of living by our convictions, of respect for others, and that family is everything. You live on in all of us.
