Oh my goodness so sad to read this! David started doing my hair when I was a teenager and I loved our talks and the life lessons he tried to teach me. He is greatly missed♥️

David was such a funny and painfully honest member of our youth choir back in the day. He did not change and many of us will miss him. 

I just learned today of my 1st cousin David's passing. Was very sorry to hear .I remember David when I was a child .He was 5 years older than me .I wasn't around Etowah much . But I do remember his sweetness and funny .Don I'm sorry for your loss and all that knew and loved him .Wish I has known my cousin as an adult .

I remember David being the sweetest cousin. He always had a kind word, and he always helped care for his family.  Always loving and supportive. 

My sincerest condolences to the family.  I was very sad to hear the news of David's passing.   We used to work together at DirectBuy.  David, you were always gentle and funny.  And you were always nice to me.  You helped me a lot.  I have such a good memory of you.  I will miss you, David.

My condolences to Don, relatives and friends of David,

David was my cousin and he cut my hair at his and Trish Davis’ shop in Athens, TN before moving to Toronto. I had the privilege of hearing David play the bagpipes three times. He was extremely talented and a gifted musician who could play the piano, organ and bagpipes. He had won many awards in hair styling contests. He had a flair for interior design and decorating. He had a passion for fashion and loved to wear designer clothes, shoes and good smelling men’s perfume! He had a wicked sense of humor. He was a veteran of the US Navy. 

To my friend and brother, David! I will miss you dearly and especially for all the times we had hanging out and listening to music. My condolences to Don and the family. May he rest peacefully in the arms of the Lord! 

I will never forget those beautiful blue eyes ... first and last thing I saw.  

Thank you everyone for the kind and beautiful sentiments.  Many of you I have met or at least heard of.  David had many fond memories of people, and spoke of many of you often.  He loved living here but cherished all the friends he had back in the USA.  

A part of me is missing but the memories of David will live on forever.  Be it a picture, a song, a movie, or anything in my house will make me think of him.   We thought we had more time but that was not the case.  

He brought his urn with him when he came to Canada and has a spot for it too .. asking me to take him for a drive every now and then,  ... perhaps to McDonald's for his favourite Happy Meal ... 



David's arrival to Canada as a Permanent Resident just shy of 17 years.  

So sad to hear. David and I and some other friends went to see Tennessee play in the sugar bowl in New Orleans and boy did we have a ball.  He was so much fun and will be missed by so many.

     I’m so sorry for your loss. David became my friend when we’re in grade school and I loved him.as did everyone that met him. We lived across the street from each other. Went to high school together. Worked together and he was my hairdresser until he moved away. He tried to get me to make the commute to Canada and I regret not doing it now.  He is the most talented person I’ve ever known. I have great memories with David. He played Amazing Grace at my mothers funeral from somewhere out of sight. I cry every time I hear that song now. My sincerest condolences to you, Don. I share the same sentiments as many. David was one of the best people I’ve met and had a swagger that carried him through that first interview  Kary articulated. I still have  some of the eau de toilette David bought for me after he got the job. Through and through, he was a stand-up guy, always entertaining and always caring.   

I  grew up with David and he was a lifelong friend.  He was also my hairdresser and the best hairdresser ever !   He was a beautiful person inside and out and I am heartbroken at his loss.  My condolences to Don and his family in Canada and here in the USA.  Love you my friend, fly high ❤️🙏

For memories of David, I am just finding out you are at peace and pain free my sweet friend. Memories of sitting with you and Danny on the Etowah Jr High School steps outside us just giggling every morning and cutting up like we had good sense 😜.  Ohhhhh those mornings got us through Pearl Walkers classes and so many hard times. I will remember us going to the bars, searching for Jeff, your there now. Ohhhhh how I have loved you through these years my friend and I was so excited when you introduced me to your "true love" ,, sweet dreams, love you always,   Sweet. 

David will forever be missed. He and I became closer after Kim passed away. Kim thought the world of David. He is at rest now, no more suffering. Fly high David fly high.

Steven and I were so saddened by the news of David's passing. On behalf of the Tratner family, I would like to pass on our sincerest condolences to Don and all of David's loved ones.

 I was with DirectBuy for over 20 years, and one of my all time favourite memories was David's interview with our company. The first part of the interview was carried out by one person, and the second by two interviewers. After David's one-on-one, we were advised to keep Part 2 very professional as Part 1 had devolved into laughter. Well, even though we were warned, all 3 of us were howling with laughter within about 2 minutes. I'm not sure if we actually got any interview questions out, but we knew 100% that David was our guy.  May David's memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

David was one of my dearest friends. I loved him and we always had the best times. I will miss him for a lifetime.

Don so sorry to hear of David's passing. He was a  special friend to me for many years  and  was there for me during difficult period  in my life. I hadn't talked to  him in a couple of years,  but I pray that he knew I still loved him.    

David, you will be forever loved and missed. I will never forget all the hours spent talking in your little downtown salon. Be at peace darlin, forever young, and yes, always beautiful.

I'm so sad at the loss of David! He was so special and so very talented.  There was only one David! I loved him with all of my heart. David was loved by so many people! Rest in peace my love!

I will miss my regular chats with David where we talked about everything from what's happening in the world to music, our pets, partners, work and of course our families.  He always wanted to catch up on what's happening with my girls and ended every call with "I love you Ale"

The world will miss you David..  You definitely were the life of any party …your sense in style and decor beats any other and I still have the scarf that you hand picked for me.    I remember you calling me and played a beautiful piece on your piano…..I sure am going to miss you  David.

I just heard the news of David's passing. I'm heartbroken! He was a dear friend and we had many great times and special memories together! It has been a couple years since we last text. He showed me all of the things he was doing and painting in the house and shared how very happy he was and how special you were! I thank you for making all of his dreams come true. David was a very special friend and person to so many people here in Etowah. As you know, if he liked you, he loved you. If he disliked you, he had no use for you! Noone had to guess where he stood! I loved that about him and am proud to say we loved each other!! My prayers are with you as I know you have lost your other half. Comfort and peace in the coming times.
