Obituary

It is with a heavy heart we announce the peaceful passing of Josef Ripp on March 2, 2025 at the age of 94. Predeceased by his loving wife Rose, he was a beloved father, Opa, and Grosopa. His presence will also be deeply missed by his friends and extended family.

Joe’s legacy lives on through his children, Helmut (Joanne), Monica (Cahal), and Eric (Sharon), who cherished him dearly. His grandchildren, Chantal (Dan), Natalie (Eric), Adam, and Kelly, will forever hold fond memories of their Opa. Joe's great-grandchildren, Abigail, Brooklyn, Paige, and Paxton, will grow up hearing stories of their Grosopa’s kindness and love.

Born in Gakovo, Yugoslavia, Joe arrived in Canada in 1955. Together with Rose, they spent many happy years enjoying time with friends at the Danube Swabian club, visits with family in Chicago, California and Germany, and created lots of cherished family memories at their cottage at Pigeon Lake and later at Lake Kashwakamak. Joe enjoyed life right to the end, socializing with friends old and new and loved nothing more than a game of cards with the grandchildren he cherished.

Resting at the Paul O'Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy), on Sunday, March 9, 2025 from 1 PM until the time of the Service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Danube Swabian club would be appreciated by the family.
