Heather, Keegan & Tara,

Please accept our sincerest condolences on the loss of your father. We hold such fond memories of time spent at your home, afternoons swimming in the pool when Tara and Brooke were young, and the yearly summer bash where Kelly would play with his band. Those moments are treasured and will always stay with us.

Please know that you are all in our thoughts and in our prayers during this difficult time.

I met Kelly when I was a teenager. Kelly's singing, great sense of humor, hospitality and quick wit were wonderful!
He and my late husband Rob had been grade school friends and Kelly was the Best man at our wedding.

I attended Humber College with Kelly many years ago. Great memories of a guy who didn't want to fit the mold, he was great fun and a pain in the b..... to the teaching staff (on purpose).
He will always be remembered.

I want to send my condolences from Tanzania, East Africa. Kelly was one of my first cousins, as his mother, Margaret, and my father, Gene, were siblings. 
It seems that 68 years old is too young to die these days. I am very sorry for this loss that his mother, brothers and sisters, children, and grandchildren are experiencing. 
There was a great Roman Catholic theologian, Karl Rahner, S.J. who wrote some beautiful words about the loss of a loved one. I hope that these words bring some comfort.

“When we have genuinely loved someone, we donate a part of ourselves to that other in a way that is beyond recall. And when they go from us, they take that part of us with them. When they go from us in the permanence of death, they take that part of us permanently. Where have they gone? They have gone to be with God, the God of Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, not the God of the dead but of the living. So the calm we eventually experience, when our necessary period of mourning is done, is not a sign that things are again as they were before, for that cannot be. It is rather a sign that part of us lives now, already in eternity, with our loved living death.” Karl Rahner, Encounters with Silence (St Augustine’s Press, 1999).

Growing up as one of Keegan's closest friends, I spent a lot of time at Kelly's home during my childhood. He was always kind to me. Some highlights are  him showing me his 12-string guitar, taking us out to the drive in, and of course his collection of cars. It's a shock to see such a prominent figure in my childhood gone, and I offer my sincere condolences to Keegan, Tara, and Heather.
