It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. Predeceased by her beloved husband Jerry (2013) and dearly missed son John (2011). Much loved Mom to Lynda, Paul, Susan (Ken), David, Maureen (John), Trish and daughter-in-law Jackie. Much loved Grandma to 13 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jess, Sam, Kyle, Heather, Brandon, Allison, Dallas, Zack, Carter, Griffin, Nolan and Macyn. She will also be missed by 7 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Derek, Kenzi, Sophia, Ayden, Isabella and Luca. Predeceased by her sister Dorothy and brother Jimmy. Survived by her youngest brother Michael (Pam) and treasured nephew (4th son) Michael Drummond (Sylvia). Countless cousins and friends who became family will remember her fondly.
Before starting a family, Mom worked many years as a diamond cutter for Dominion Diamond. It was the beginning of friendships that continued for over 50 years. After years of raising 7 kids, Mom spent many happy years working for Hudson’s Bay and made many more lifelong friends that remained well after retirement.
Mom’s matchless sense of hospitality at Sweeney Drive swept every guest immediately into a delightful world, where kindness and generosity sat side by side with pots of tea, cookies and conversation. Unquestionably she was the Mother of all the people.
Mom and Dad loved to travel and enjoyed many winter get aways to Florida with lifelong friends. Family vacations and visits with friends to cottages at Balm Beach were memorable.
Mom enjoyed tennis, bridge, crosswords, scrabble, knitting, music and could iron better than anyone.
Special thanks to staff at Extendicare Rouge Valley Meadowvale , especially Shamie, Ingrid, Lynne, Susan and Jane. Your care for Mom was greatly appreciated. Thank you also to Maxine Clark for being such a special friend to Mom while living there.
Dad lovingly called her the Queen Bee, and we know his heart is full having her back with him again.
God Bless Mom, thank you for loving us so much, as we do you.
