Sorry for the delay in getting this information to everyone, but we wanted to put thought into this process in order to select special causes close to Mom. We sincerely appreciate a small donation to any of these causes listed
Mom was blessed with many "adopted" daughters in her life. One of Adrienne's dearest friends, Kristen, has a wonderful daughter Bianca who is challenged with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome. The Cornelia de Lange Syndrome (CdLS) Foundation has helped Kristen and her family greatly: https://donate.cdlsusa.org/
Mom had a canine companion for a little while. The dog didn't work out, but when she went for her training, she was there with a little boy, Gregory. He is now participating in a walk to help raise money for his challenge, Muscular Dystrophy. There is an online team and we registered mom as a walker on Gregory's team so people could donate in her name to Gregory's team. Here's how you register: https://www.walkingfordreams.org/Donate.aspx Credit my donation to individual walker. Click the drop down menu under walker and you will find galanek, ann - Muscular Dystrophy Family Fund.
Mom volunteered from time to time at Pregnancy Care Center in New Rochelle. She would serve as receptionist to greet young mothers when they came in and she would make baby blankets for the young mothers who chose life.
