On October 16, 2024 Camille D. Molea (Scalone) passed away peacefully at her home of 57 years in New Rochelle, NY. She was 90 years old. Camille is now reunited with her husband of 61 years, Anthony A. Molea, and other family members in heaven. Camille was born in College Point, NY on July 28,1934 to John and Jean (Battista) Scalone. Camille and Anthony were married on July 4,1961 at Sacred Heart Church in Bayside, NY. They renewed their wedding vows in 2011 to celebrate their 50th anniversary. She lived a full, rewarding life and her family is forever grateful to have had her with them for so long. Camille’s family, particularly her grandchildren, were her pride and joy - never happier than when she was spending time with them - anywhere - but especially on their annual excursions to Montauk.
Camille received her Masters degree in Education from Queens College. She took great pride in her many years of teaching: 13 years at public schools in Westbury (New Castle School) and Pelham Manor, NY (Prospect Hill School) and 21 years of Catholic school teaching in Scarsdale (St. Pius X School). She was a presenter of Hands-On Science Workshops for the Archdiocese of NY and was recognized by Catholic New York for her unit on Embryology. Camille was a parishioner of St. Pius X Church for 57 years and was very proud of her many years of service. She was President of the Marian Guild as well as Chairperson of the Altar Committee, helping to organize school/church fundraisers as well as masses and luncheons for the disabled. Camille was also a Partner in Hope for two charities that were very important to her, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Schreiners Hospital for Children.
Camille is survived by her two children, Anthony (Lucia Perrotta) and Marion (Matthew Gildard) and four grandchildren, Marisa N. Molea, Anthony J. Molea Jr., Gianna C. Gildard and Andrew J. Gildard. She is also survived by her sisters, Rosalie (Scalone) Despagni and Sr. Rose Carmel Scalone, and by her brother, Jonathan Scalone (Lynn).
Funeral arrangements will be handled by Edwin L. Bennett, Scarsdale, NY as follows: Wake - Sunday, October 20 from 4-7 pm; Mass - Monday, October 21 at 12:30 at St. Pius X, Scarsdale; followed by a Rite of Christian Burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne.
