Gene Heubel of Scarsdale, NY passed away on May 4, 2010, after a year long battle with ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease. He was 56 years old. Beloved husband of Susan Akeraisen Heubel, beloved father of Amy Elizabeth Heubel, and brother of Helen Heubel Vopasek, of Little Ferry, NJ. Much loved brother-in-law of Nina Akeraisen Rosenband & Barry Rosenband and Frank J. Vopasek 4th; cherished uncle of Kara Rosenband Jordan, David Rosenband and LCpl. Frank J. Vopasek 5th, USMC. Mr. Heubel was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, Lehman College. Mr. Heubel had most recently worked as a real estate agent for ERA-Atlantic, Mamaroneck, NY. A memorial will be on Monday, May 10, 2010 at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home, 824 Scarsdale Ave., Scarsdale, NY from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary R.C. Church, Route 22 & Carman Ave, Scarsdale, NY.
