
Frank Rocco, 94, a life long resident of Eastchester, NY, passed away on Sunday June 15, 2014. Frank served our country with courage in the army in World War II and was wounded on May 7, 1944 in Anzio Beach, Italy, for which he received a Purple Heart.
Frank was born June 18, 1919, in Eastchester NY to Giuseppe and Filomena Rocco. On August 8, 1948 he married Helen Stanziale, who predeceased him. Frank also served for over 50 years as a volunteer in the Eastchester Fire Department for the north end hook and ladder company. He was a member of the Leroy Gregory Post, the 52 wounded veterans association, The Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), the Lighthouse bowling Association, Blind Veterans Association of New York, and The Lions Club. He was one of 10 children. He was pre-deceased by his brothers Patrick, Anthony, and John. Frank leaves behind his sons Frank Rocco and Richard Rocco, grandsons Richard Rocco, Frank Rocco, and Michael Rocco, granddaughters Mandy Yanniello, Denise Ricciotti, and Laurie File and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Joseph, Arthur and his sisters Lillian Baldino, Mary Surace, Anna Girasoli, and Elizabeth DeLuigi. Friends and family may visit the funeral home on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at 10:00am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Valhalla.
