Born on September 23, 1948, in Schaefferstown, PA, Brian was the son of the late Morris Ream and Josephine (Hartman) Ream. He was also preceded in death by his twin brother, Eric Allan Ream, who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1969; his brother, Glenn Ream; and his sister, Karen (Ream) Bechtel.
Brian was a proud 1966 graduate of ELCO High School and dedicated 43 years of service to Wilbur Chocolate. He was known for his strong work ethic, quiet devotion to his family, and the steady presence he provided to those who loved him.
Family was at the center of Brian’s life. He was the loving father of Melissa Shiner, wife of Daniel Shiner, Lebanon; Eric Ream, Myerstown; and Bradley Ream, husband of Jenna Ream, Myerstown. He was a proud grandfather to Amanda Ream, Brittany Horst, Josh Ream, Haley Viot, Mackenzie Shiner, Avah St. Onge, Kaitlin Ream, Abigail Shiner, Zoey Ream, Ella St. Onge, Elise Shiner, and Jasper Ream, and was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren as well as a niece and several nephews.
Brian deeply loved sports and faithfully cheered on Penn State athletics and the New York Yankees. His love for sports was evident even in the names of his beloved dogs, Jeter and Barkley. More importantly, he was his family’s biggest fan. Whether it was a sporting event, school function, or family gathering, Brian rarely missed an opportunity to show his support and encouragement.
One of Brian’s greatest joys was creating lasting memories with his family during annual summer beach vacations that became treasured traditions for years. His presence, loyalty, humor, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Clauser Funeral Home, 116 N. Carpenter Street, Schaefferstown, PA.
