Helen E. Patches, 87, formerly of South Lebanon Township, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 in the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late Henry G. Patches. She was born in Tulpehocken Township, Berks County, on October 17, 1930, a daughter of the late Allen and Susan Ebling Keeney. Helen retired from Cornwall-Lebanon Middle School working in the cafeteria for many years and also helped her husband on their family farm. Helen was a member of Midway Church where she sang in the choir for many years. She also served as deacon, cook in their kitchen, Sunday school teacher, was a volunteer with the District Disaster Relief Fund and Londonderry Village Chicken BBQ. She is survived by sons, Sherwood Patches and wife Jeanette of Goshen, IN; Rodney Patches and wife Margie of Ambler, PA; Christopher Patches and wife Cynthia of Lebanon, PA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister, Marion Wood and husband William of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by brother, Allen Keeney, Jr. Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Midway Church, 13 Evergreen Road, Lebanon, PA with a viewing beginning on Monday at 9:00 AM. Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to District Disaster Response Benevolent Fund, 500 E. Cedar St., Elizabethtown, PA 17022-2512.
