Joan Ellen Strickler, 82, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, within the comfort of her own home. She was born in Lebanon on September 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Ralph and Helen (Hippert) McCook.
Joan was a member of the Millcreek Lutheran Church. She worked in customer service for Kountry Kraft Kitchens for many years before retirement. On November 17, 1962, she married her true love, John R. Strickler. They shared a love of golf and went on many trips together. After nearly 53 years of marriage, he sadly passed away in 2015.
She is survived by her son John D. Strickler, husband of Melissa; and sister, Barbara Weidman.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph McCook Jr. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Millcreek Lutheran Church, 221 N. Sheridan Road, Newmanstown, PA with a visitation from 10:00 till time of service.
