June Huber Horst

June Huber Horst, 91, of Schaefferstown, PA, died Thursday, December 15, 2011 in her home. She was the wife of the late Earl L. Horst. She was born June 7, 1920 in Schaefferstown, a daughter of the late Henry M. and Annie M. Sherk Huber. She was employed as school secretary for the Schaefferstown Elementary School and the Lebanon County Vo-Tech School. June was a member of the Zion United Methodist Church of Schaefferstown where she was involved in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of Farm Women Group 8 and a Charter member of the Heidelberg Township Lioness Club. She was active in 4-H and the Girl Scouts in her youth. She was a graduate of Heidelberg Township High School, Class of 1938 and the Lebanon Business College, Class of 1940. June and her late husband Earl were class mates since first grade, became sweethearts during high school and married June 7, 1942. She enjoyed her life on the Horst homestead since 1942. She is survived by children, Susan J. Kerschner and husband Jack of Myerstown; Stephen H. Horst and wife Susan of Schaefferstown; Beth E. Horst of Port Charlotte, FL; Alice J. Wagner and husband Terry of Schaefferstown; grandchildren, Steven Kenny, Jennifer Logan, Melinda Peiffer, Nathan Horst, Peter Horst, Daniel Horst, Johanna Horst, Stephen L. Horst, Jacob Wagner, Allison Wagner, Daniel Condaxis and Thea Condaxis; eleven great grandchildren. June was the last member of her family and sole survivor of eleven children. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Horst and grandson, Abram R. Wagner. Funeral service will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM in the Zion United Methodist Church, 402 W. Main St., Schaefferstown, PA. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown, PA and on Thursday from 9:30 AM to time of service at the church.
