Loretta J. Bennetch

Loretta J. Bennetch, 89, of Schaefferstown died on Monday February 9 at her home. Born January 5, 1937, in Schaefferstown, she was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Edna L. Smith Krall. Loretta graduated from Lebanon Business School and had a successful career, working at Prudential Insurance Company and Lebanon Valley National Bank. She married John D. Bennetch on May 1, 1964, and they built a wonderful life together. They particularly enjoyed traveling and watching Penn State football together. Loretta was an exceptional cook and baker.

Loretta was preceded in death by her loving husband John, their infant son Gregory J., and her brother Conrad. She is survived by daughter Leslie Schaeffer of Schaefferstown, stepdaughters Karen (wife of Robert Struwe) of Macungie, and Kim Marie (wife of Pastor Richard Gilbaugh) of Bellefonte, and sister-in-law Eva Krall. Also surviving are grandchildren Rebecca L. Struwe, David R. Struwe (wife Jamie), Kristy Gilbaugh Smith (husband Ryan), and Kurtis Gilbaugh (fiancee Kristen), as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Lebanon Bible Fellowship Church on February 21 at 11:00am; a luncheon at the church will follow. Interment at a private service will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery. Clauser Funeral Home Inc. is handling the arrangements. www.clauserfh.com
