Paul R Spitler

Paul R. Spitler, 85, of Newmanstown (Waldeck), passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2017 in Stoneridge Towne Centre, Myerstown. He was the husband of Dollie M. Eberly Spitler with whom he was married to for 63 years. He was born in Heidelberg Township on September 25, 1931, a son of the late Paul E. and Helen Beck Spitler. Paul was a retired employee of Alcoa in Lebanon and later was the water meter reader for Heidelberg Township for many years. He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown where he served on the church council and was financial secretary. He was an Air Force veteran serving during the Korean War. Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Sally A. Loeb and husband Jerry of Lebanon; Todd M. Spitler of Lancaster; Becky A. Coleman and husband Joe of Lebanon; grandchildren, Mandy, Joey, Tyler and Briena. Also special to his heart are great grandchildren, Damian, Dryden and Maddie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Ann. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11 am in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1304 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown, PA with a viewing beginning on Thursday at 10 am. Interment will be made in the Schaefferstown Cemetery, In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Paul’s UCC, PO Box 375, Schaefferstown, PA 17088.
