Adelino Gomes

He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was born February 13, 1920 on the Island of Fogo, Cape Verde. He had been a resident of Scituate since 1968. He was married to Belmira in 1951. Adelino was one of 5 children the son of Francisco Gomes and Hortencia. He is preceded in death by his parents sisters Clarinha, Lilia, Eva. He is survived by his youngest sister Jonia also of Scituate.

Our dad has a large family. Maria Lotinha Mendes, Manuel Gomes, Francisco Gomes, Benvinda Miller, Maria Adelina Pinto, Noli Gomes and Rose Wiest. He has 14 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren numerous nieces and nephews.

He had many friends loving caring supportive neighbors. All who knew or were touched by this man will miss him. He opened his heart and home to all. He considered everyone family, no one was a stranger. His kindness generosity. gentleness will be missed.

Visiting Hours will be on Thursday, Sept. 10th from 4:00PM to 8:00 PM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA.

A funeral Mass will be on Friday, Sept. 11th at 10 AM in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Burial to follow in Union Cemetery, Scituate.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St Mary's Church of Scituate.
