Barbara Maxine Smith Sabean passed away after a long and courageous battle with old age. She was a part of the “greatest generation” born January 6, 1928 in Quincy Massachusetts, graduating from North Quincy High, and then raising her family in Scituate.
She is predeceased by her husband Earl Everton Sabean, a WWII Navy veteran, and businessman, her parents John A. Smith and Mildred Crowell Smith and her siblings Lillian, Minard, Lois, and Arthur.
She is survived by her five children Richard (Sandy), Peter (Wendy), Jeffrey (Gina), Laura Berton (John), Pauline Colton (Scott), eight grandchildren Jessica, Sydney, Harris, Harrison, Grant, Isabelle, Brooks, and Trace, and two great grandchildren William, and Audrey. Barbara was incredibly creative, a talented artist and worked briefly with an architectural firm but decided to dedicate her life to raising her family. Late in life she loved watching sports, game shows, doing crossword puzzles, Wordle and drawing, but most of all spending time with family.
In lieu of flowers donation to the Arthritis Foundation would be welcomed.
