Carol A. Burke

Carol A. (Miller) Burke, 70, of Scituate entered the Lords embrace surrounded by family, after a valiant battle with lung cancer on May 28, 2011. Loving wife of the late John P. Burke. Carol was a long time employee of CVS in Scituate and Kohls in Pembroke and a proud member of The Steel Magnolia Breakfast Club. She is survived by her children-Patrick J. of Scituate, Deirdre A. Woolley and her husband Douglas of Norwood, Edwin F. of Scituate and his wife Claire and Ellen M. Anderson of Scituate and her husband Michael. Nana will be sorely missed by her ten grandchildren, Caroline, Jacqueline, Natalie, Tiffany, Karen, Sydney, John, Brendan, Edwin Jr., and Joseph. Carol was also survived by two sisters, Dorothy Crear of Billerica and Barbara McGrath of Medford. Auntie" Carol will be remembered by many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Thursday, June 2 from 4-8 p.m. at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd. in Scituate. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Marys of the Nativity in Scituate Harbor, Friday, June 3 at 10 a.m. with interment in Cudworth Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Carols memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Center.
