

Catherine A.(Cathy) Duggan, 68, died early March 10, at South Shore Hospital after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She is survived by her sister, Donna M. (Jim) Clancy, of Union, KY, and her brother, Gerard A. (Tami) Duggan III, of Duxbury, MA. She is also survived by her nephews, James (Jenn) Clancy, Jr., Paul Clancy, Brady Duggan, Max Duggan and her niece, Ellie Duggan. Also, her cousins and friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Gerard and Catherine (Kay) Duggan, her sister, Patti Duggan, and her niece, Taryn Clancy.
After graduating from Springfield College, Cathy worked as a recreational specialist at St. Coletta Day School, in Braintree. She was area coordinator for Norfolk County Special Olympics, as well. After many years in these fields, she decided to give banking a try, starting in Customer Services for BayBank. She then moved into the branches working for Fleet Bank, BankBoston, Bank of America, and Rockland Trust Company. She rose from teller to branch manager, managing many branches, ending as manager of the Cohasset branch.
Cathy was an avid reader, traveler and shopper. She also was a community advocate, serving on the board of South Shore Support Services for many years.
Cathy will be remembered as a caring, generous person. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
