Smith-Donald Jason of Hingham Formerly of Scituate passed away at home on July 8, 2012, age 90. Donald is the loving husband of Muriel (Turner). Born and raised in Newton, Donald lived in Scituate for over 50 years before moving to Hingham 5 years ago, spending the winter seasons at his home in Venice, FL for 26 years. He is a WWII Navy Veteran. Donald worked for Lumber Mutual Insurance in Framingham for 30 years, retiring as Vice President. He was a 22 year member of the Scituate Housing Authority, member of the Satuit Masonic Lodge AF & AM, and enjoyed golfing and boating. Donald is the father of Sandra Rollings Rainey of Sarasota, FL and the late Jay Smith, step-father of Karl Johnson of Scituate, grandfather of Stephen and Curtis Johnson, and great-grandfather of 3. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers donations in Donald’s memory may be made to Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Dr, Norwell, MA 02061 and/or Tidewell Hospice, 12731 S. Tamiami Trail, North Port, FL 34287.
