Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Harold and Alice (Curran) Galligan.
After serving as a Private First Class in the United States Marine Corps, Edward built a working life he held with deep pride. A proud Union Teamster, he worked for Scituate Concrete and Pipe, Marshfield Sand and Gravel, and Southeastern Concrete.
Edward enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, and visiting his grandson. In his last years, he especially cherished time at his harbor side apartment, where he could watch the boats and the pier, taking in the nature of the ocean front and appreciating the company of great neighbors.
Father of Eddie Galligan, Sean Galligan and Maureen Galligan and her companion John Cesarini, all of Scituate.
Grandfather of Jonathan Cesarini and his wife Andraea of Pembroke.
Brother of Denis Galligan, Tommy Galligan and the late Patsy Laugelle.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and the Dowd family.
