He was a son of the late Antonio and Florence Cortez. Devoted husband to the late Jane (Delano) Cortez. Loving father to the late Helen J. Cummings. Cherished grandfather to Joseph Cummings and Heather Cummings, her partner Emanuel Simons, great grandfather to Alyssa Holley, Henry Simons and Zoey Simons. Beloved brother of the late Mary O’Quin, Elizabeth Silvia and Richard Cortez.
He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Harold was a former employee for the Town of Scituate for over 32 years, where he worked for both the Scituate Public Schools and the Scituate Police Department.
A visitation will take place on Saturday July 15, 2017 from 12-1 pm at Richardson – Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral service will follow at 1pm in the funeral home chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Scituate Animal Shelter would be appreciated.
