

Heffernan, Jane Frances (Blanchard) “Frannie” of Scituate passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her three daughters on July 11, 2013, age 73. She is the wife of the late Robert “Spike” Heffernan.
Frannie was a lifelong resident of Scituate. She graduated from Scituate High School and Fisher Jr. College, Boston. She worked as a secretary to the Chief of Police in Scituate for 20 years. Frannie enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was devoted to her grandchildren.
She is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth M. Glidden and her husband Shawn of Danvers, Mary Jane Turner and her husband Jeff of Duxbury, and Erin Heffernan of Scituate. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Leary of Scituate and the late Thomas Leary, and she was the sister of two brothers, the late Paul Blanchard of Scituate and the late James Blanchard of Scituate. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Carol Blanchard of Scituate, Elizabeth Blanchard of Scituate, and Anne Flanagan of Maine. She leaves seven grandchildren: Robert and Daniel Glidden, Samuel and Annie Turner, and Sara Beth, Colin, and Brendan Haskell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Sunday, July 14th from 3-7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 15th at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate, followed by a Christian Burial at St. Mary’s cemetery.
