Jean was born in Bergenfield, NJ, loving daughter of the late Louise and Wendell Muenzen. She attended Fordham University, after which, she ran a laboratory at Jersey City Hospital. It was here she met the love of her life. Jean and Bob were married in June of 1961. They moved to Scituate, MA in 1967.
Jean was a person of great faith and community. She was an active member of St. Mary of the Nativity parish. She taught CCD for several years while her children were growing up. She then lead the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) program for a number of years. In addition, she was a Eucharistic Minister who volunteered at various nursing homes and South Shore Hospital providing the Eucharist, prayer and comfort to many. Jean felt the best way to start each day was by attending early morning mass often followed by coffee with fellow friends and parishioners before setting off for the day. Jean was also an active member of the Scituate Health Service for over thirty years, a portion of which was as President.
Jean was a gift to so many. Words cannot describe the care, comfort, wisdom and humor that she embodied to all those she encountered. She made everyone feel special, and to her, they were. She could add levity to any situation with her quick wit and leave everyone with a sense of lightheartedness and a smile. Jean was also an incredible cook. She had numerous recipe boxes and books throughout her kitchen but she rarely needed to refer to them when cooking or baking. She was always in the kitchen making some delicious creation in abundance to share with family and friends.
Jean was a devoted wife, mother and friend who lived her life by faith and family.
