Jerry was born on May 27, 1946 to Roland and Beulah Kamman in Columbus, Indiana. Jerry studied landscape architecture at Purdue University. He then moved to Massachusetts to begin his career as a landscape architect.
In 1970, Jerry met Marge at Logan airport in Boston and they were married ten months later. Jerry and Marge went on to enjoy 52 years of marriage and have three children, Ben, Sally Johnson (Doug), and Katie Burke (Jeremy). He was also blessed with two grandchildren, Abby (16) and Sam Johnson (15).
For the past 20+ years Jerry discovered a passion for growing Asian pears. What began as a few trees in his yard grew into a thriving orchard. He and Marge enjoyed being a part of the farmer’s market community across the South Shore.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, in-laws (William and Margaret Toms), and sister-in-law (Linda Toms). He is survived by his immediate family, as well as his brother Dean (Karen) and their children Doug (Paula), Mike (Ty), and Jane Nolting (Mark), brother-in-law Bill Toms (Joyce) and their children Heather Anderson (Matt) and Lauren.
Other than his family, his greatest legacy and love was being a part of the formation of North River Community Church. It was a place where he found life and grew deeper in his relationship with Christ. He treasured his friends and a very special Bible study group that he was part of at the church.
Services will be held at North River Community Church (334 Old Oak Street, Pembroke, MA 02359 ) on May 20, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the North River Community Church - Deacons Fund.
