

GANEM, Joseph Albert, of Scituate passed away unexpectedly on February 4th, 2011 at age 83. Loving and devoted husband to Alice (Cochrane) for 57 years, Joe was a resident of Scituate since 1962. Born in Boston on November 2, 1927 he was predeceased by his parents Agnes (Hajjar) and Albert Ganem, siblings George, Mary, Mike, Ernie, and grandson Michael. In addition to his wife, Joe is survived by his four loving children, son Joseph and wife Becky of Redwood Shores, CA., daughter Lynne Hall and husband John of Port Clyde, ME., son John and wife Pam of Exeter, NH., and son Steven of Westwood, MA. Known as “Grampy” he is survived by nine adoring grandchildren, Jonathan and wife Jessica, Alia, Christine, Joshua, Matthew, Ashley, Steven Jr., Jimmy, and Emily, as well as two great-grandchildren Christian and Carter. A WWII Army veteran, Joe served the U.S. government for 50 years at the Charlestown Naval Shipyard and Watertown Arsenal.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd., Scituate on Wednesday, February 9th at 9 AM followed by a Mass at the Parish of St. Anthony, Cohasset at 10AM. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday, February 8th from 4PM - 8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joe’s memory to the American Heart Association
