She was the beloved wife of the late Peter W. Place, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage.
She was the devoted mother of Christine Bache and her husband John of Hopedale, Kimberly Dustin and her husband Craig of Framingham and Kelly Devine and her husband Herb of Scituate. Cherished grandmother to 12 grandchildren: Lucas, Trevor and Joseph Bache; Peter, Kiley, Zachary, Benjamin and Cecilia Dustin; and Lyla, Ivey, Tula and Posey Devine.
Maureen lived in Ashland with her family for more than 33 years. She enjoyed having acres of land to appreciate nature and to cultivate her love for rescuing animals. Maureen was a true artist and spent much of her time sewing, crafting and cooking, but she was most passionate about her painting and was particularly gifted at painting landscapes. Her creativity led her to several years owning her own business making and selling porcelain dolls. In 2014, she made an exciting move from Ashland to Scituate, where she found a beautiful home overlooking the water. Nothing gave her more joy in life than having her new home to create memories with her family and friends.
A funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment will take place privately. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy, Scituate, MA 02066.
