

SCITUATE - Phyllis L. Boyea (Lamere), 83, formerly of Bound Brook, New Jersey, died at her home on July 10, 2010 surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Richard J. Boyea, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert P. Lamere of Atlanta, GA. She is survived by her devoted children Patricia B. Findra and husband Martin of Milltown, NJ; John R. Boyea and wife Deborah of Hillsborough, NJ; Barbara A. Boyea of Scituate, MA and Teresa B. Poitras and husband Brian of Dunstable, MA, cousins, nieces and nephews; and grandchildren - Jacqueline, David, Melanie, Tyler and Nick. Phyllis was born and raised in Quincy, MA and upon graduating from Simmons College in Boston in 1949 with a B.S. degree in Home Economics, she obtained employment in New Jersey as a Home Economics Adviser with the Public Service Electric and Gas Company. After marriage and raising her children in Bound Brook, NJ, she and her husband retired to her parent’s home in Scituate. In caring for her family, Phyllis excelled at applying her skills as a Home Economist, inevitably passing many of these skills on to her children. She was active in Girl Scouting, Women’s Literary Club of Bound Brook, and the ESL Tutoring program. Phyllis enjoyed being the ultimate homemaker as well as, later in life, flower and vegetable gardening, attending “Workouts By Nina”, senior luncheons with “Table One”, and Father Bradley’s (Foyer of Charity) Bible Study group, but most of all, being “Gramma”. Visiting hours will be held at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home at 382 First Parish Road, Scituate, MA from 4PM-8PM on Friday, July 16, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Church in Cohasset, MA. In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Phyllis’s name may be made to the Foyer of Charity at 74 Hollett Street, Scituate, MA 02066-1499.
