Priscilla B Horton, 95, of Scituate, formerly of Norwood, peacefully passed away on September 8th, 2020, in the company of granddaughters.
She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Howard Horton, who predeceased her in 1991.
Born on November 1, 1924, Priscilla shared great family love with her predeceased Wenstrom siblings: Marion, Cynthia, Bernie, George and Edith; and mothered three children: Mark, Janet and David. She adored her six grandchildren Neil and Devon (deceased) Grote, Whitney, Christina and Dakota Horton and Kyla Melia.
A 1942 graduate of Norwood High School, Priscilla used her learned secretarial skills working with several Boston companies in support of the war and later for her husband’s painting business in support of her family, often in sacrifice of exploring her talent in art and music. Her keen eye for design and fashion showed in her prolific shopping expeditions; her love of cooking and entertaining was surely influenced by her mother Esther’s Swedish culinary culture.
Priscilla will be remembered as much for her lavishly descriptive and heartfelt letters as she will for her storytelling, shared with numerous, loving friends and family, whose celebrations she was sure to photograph. She treasured time aboard her namesake yacht with Howie exploring from Maine through the Bahamas, wintering in Fort Lauderdale and summering in Falmouth and Gloucester, contrasting less fortunate times of her carousel life. Admirers have been stunned by her beautiful, full head of hair; others by her stamina, loyalty and love. All for which she will be missed.
A family funeral service will take place at a later date.
