Richard “Dick” Derby Partridge Jr. of Scituate, formerly of Waltham, left us suddenly on March 4th, 2025 at his home in Scituate. Husband of 51 years to the late Gail Anne Partridge (Phelan) 03/04/1942 - 11/23/10.
Richard is survived by his five children, Richard D. Partridge III and his wife Sheryl Partridge of Stoughton David Partridge of Plymouth, Judith Partridge of Lowell, Cynthia Partridge of Wilmington, and Lynne Partridge of Scituate, his fifteen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Dick was proud of his service in the Marine Corps 1955-1959 and his 24 years of dedication as a steam engineer working in sub stations providing power for the MBTA and 27 additional years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as chief engineer at Fernald school in Waltham and subsequently Wrentham State school. Dick loved nothing more than Boston sports, a cold beer and cracking a joke; most who knew him would say he’s the funniest guy they know.
Dick will be buried in the Cudworth Veterans Cemetery joining his wife and in close proximity to his parents Richard and Gladys Partridge. Per his request, no services are being held.
